29The Fort Worth Zoo is one of the best we’ve been to so far. Big, beautiful, lush, green–sweet. But let me back up.
I know I’ve repeated myself on here a hundred times already. I blogged about all these new friends two weeks ago while we were staying with them, and now I’m talking about all of them again. Well, I don’t want to bore you, but if you missed the post I wrote from Trey and Amy’s living room in Dallas, go read it. What a night!
I met Amy on Facebook. She and Trey are awesome. And Hannah (8) and Becca (4)–delightful. Hannah was born on Gabe’s birthday and is exactly one week older than Livi. They were kindred spirits from the get-go, and I ache for Livi to have a friend like that here. Hannah, do you want to come live with us?? That girl cracked us up nonstop. And gave up her Perfect Attendance Award at school to go to the zoo with us! Her mama says she’ll be so excited to read about herself on my blog again. Hi, Hannah!
And can’t leave out Miss Becca. (Gail, she reminds me MUCH of Josie!) Sweet, cute as anything, and all kinds of fun. They were perfect companions for our girls, and we all had so much fun together!
Love you, Amy! Can’t wait to see you again!
Note: I have a few pics from Trey and Amy’s house to post, but I’m going to save them for tomorrow (Dallas Zoo). There are just too many fab pics of the Fort Worth Zoo.

Zoo #27. (pic taken w/mini-tripod and self-timer)

Poor rhino. What a rough life.

Amy and I and our girly-girls.

A rare giraffe-turtle encounter. Happy ending? You’ll have to read the book!

This pic is enough to bring tears to my eyes.

Have I mentioned that I love orangutans?

Nina pointed out every single Texas outline we saw. So, like, 43 thousand or so.

Is that all he thinks about?

Wells Fargo. An unhappy reminder that I need to pay the mortgage.

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not grow faint. (Isaiah 40:31)
The girls took this verse to heart. We did the Fort Worth Zoo, then drove an hour to the Dallas Zoo, did that whole thing, drove 2 hours to Jack and Kaye’s, and they blabbered and jabbered the whole way without sleeping a wink. Didn’t go to bed until midnight. Craziness.
Up tomorrow–more bluebonnet and mattress pics and the Dallas Zoo! Have a wild Wednesday!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your pics! They are beautiful and I can’t wait to read your book on zoos! I think its fun that you go to the zoo with random people you met on FB!
Love “the odd couple” shot Gabe! BTW… One of my nurses at my OB/GYN went to Temple and told me that you were the super hot thing that all the girls wanted!
Oooo, I like the “You’ll have to read the book” comment.
Now I want to pre-order the book just to find out if it was a happy ending or not!!
I love the giraffe kissing the turtle. And I love that you are making connections all across the country. This is too fun!
Your man is so talented with all his pictures. I love the rhino and the giraffe/turtle meetup.
Oh what wonderful pictures. LOVE the eagle and the birds:) Please tell the girls we have yet another egg, so maybe one of these days we’ll have baby doves to show them! That is ALL they think about, so with their determination, surely one day there WILL be babies!
Have a wonderfully blessed day.
We miss all of you,
Kaye
Matthew 21:22
Once again, fabulous pictures that say so much! Maybe Livi and her little friend can be “pen pals” (oh, how that dates me), ya know, with e-mail or text or something. I did that with other girls at her age and those were some of the specialist (most special) friendships I had then.
I would LOVE to be that rhino….
SO GLAD the FW Zoo lived up to expectations. Loved all of these shots. So pretty.
1. Love the Livi- Hannah friendship, picture, connection. Who knows? Maybe they’ll be college roommates.
2. Love that some other mother out there is suffering under the cuteness, fun and orneriness I am with Josie. So Amy when you have THAT kind of day with Becca? Apparently I get it!
3. I’m loving the zoo recaps. I’m loving that this dream you shared with me at my kitchen table (showing me a brand new notebook for the occasion) is a reality! I love that there is going to be a book! I love that God is faithful! I love you!
Love the pictures! We can’t wait to get to the FW Zoo.
I want to go to there.
We went to the Ft. Worth Zoo last summer and LOVED it. It’s definitely the coolest zoo I’ve ever been too.
Glad you enjoyed it!
