houston, we have a zoo plan!

Well, not just for Houston. But “Oklahoma City (et. al), we have a Zoo Plan!” doesn’t have quite the same ring. Not to mention that it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that Houston’s the only city that works in this context.

And I’m not sure how I managed to ramble THAT much in the first three sentences I typed.

Starting over…

We have a Zoo Plan! I can’t promise that it won’t change any, but this is what we’re aiming for, Lord willing. You ready?

Tuesday, April 14–Tulsa Zoo

Wednesday, April 15–Oklahoma City Zoo

Thursday, April 16–Fort Worth Zoo and Dallas Zoo

Friday, April 17–Caldwell Zoo (Tyler, TX)

Saturday, April 18–Houston Zoo

Monday, April 20–Sea World San Antonio

Tuesday, April 21–San Antonio Zoo

Thursday, April 23–Memphis (TN) Zoo

We had to nix the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco. (I’m so sorry, Kat! I hate that I don’t get to meet you!) It’s out of our way, and we just ran out of days. And we added the Memphis Zoo, because it’s halfway between San Antonio and Columbus. We’re crazy, but not crazy enough to do the 18-hour SA to C-bus trip in one shot.We are, however, crazy enough to do the Memphis Zoo all day Thursday, then drive 9+ hours home that afternoon.

So, we need a place to stay in Memphis. Anyone? And we’re still looking for a place to crash in (or just north of) Tulsa.

Other than that, we’re all set. Bless you, Megan, Amy, Kaye, Mary, Kelli, and Sandi! (and your families!) Amazing. God is so amazing. Still waiting to hear from four zoos, but it shouldn’t be a problem. Now, we just pray that everyone stays healthy and it doesn’t snow in Texas while we’re there. Actually, let it snow! It’s all good.

It’s almost 1:00 a.m., but I’m wide-eyed and bushy-tailed. Beside myself with excitement. This is just so cool. So cool!

See you tomorrow for Swirly Saturday! I’ve collected some fun stuff to share. Have a great weekend!

How exciting! I’ll mark the Memphis date on the calendar. E-mail me if you can’t find a person to stay with in Memphis — I’ve got a few friends that live there.

I know you are thrilled to have days-zoos on paper! Look so forward to meeting your family.
Blessings to all of you this weekend and always,

PS The tax info is in the accountant’s hands:) YEAH:)

Ooooh I’m so excited! My hubby should have that Tuesday off so he can come too! (I was rather worried about trying to attempt the zoo with two babies by myself. Especially since we don’t have a double stroller.) Yay for picking a Tuesday! 🙂

Aw man! I was afraid this would happen… I won’t be able to meet you any of those times. Sad day! Tyler has events… so I’ll be with him. Which is not sad! Maybe someday.

Snow in Texas in April!!?? Anything is possible. It was 89 degrees where we live in Midland yesterday and this morning a cold front came in and it’s 36 degrees!! Spring is strange here!!
