Well, not just for Houston. But “Oklahoma City (et. al), we have a Zoo Plan!” doesn’t have quite the same ring. Not to mention that it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that Houston’s the only city that works in this context.
And I’m not sure how I managed to ramble THAT much in the first three sentences I typed.
We have a Zoo Plan! I can’t promise that it won’t change any, but this is what we’re aiming for, Lord willing. You ready?
Tuesday, April 14–Tulsa Zoo
Wednesday, April 15–Oklahoma City Zoo
Thursday, April 16–Fort Worth Zoo and Dallas Zoo
Friday, April 17–Caldwell Zoo (Tyler, TX)
Saturday, April 18–Houston Zoo
Monday, April 20–Sea World San Antonio
Tuesday, April 21–San Antonio Zoo
Thursday, April 23–Memphis (TN) Zoo
We had to nix the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco. (I’m so sorry, Kat! I hate that I don’t get to meet you!) It’s out of our way, and we just ran out of days. And we added the Memphis Zoo, because it’s halfway between San Antonio and Columbus. We’re crazy, but not crazy enough to do the 18-hour SA to C-bus trip in one shot.We are, however, crazy enough to do the Memphis Zoo all day Thursday, then drive 9+ hours home that afternoon.
So, we need a place to stay in Memphis. Anyone? And we’re still looking for a place to crash in (or just north of) Tulsa.
Other than that, we’re all set. Bless you, Megan, Amy, Kaye, Mary, Kelli, and Sandi! (and your families!) Amazing. God is so amazing. Still waiting to hear from four zoos, but it shouldn’t be a problem. Now, we just pray that everyone stays healthy and it doesn’t snow in Texas while we’re there. Actually, let it snow! It’s all good.
It’s almost 1:00 a.m., but I’m wide-eyed and bushy-tailed. Beside myself with excitement. This is just so cool. So cool!
See you tomorrow for Swirly Saturday! I’ve collected some fun stuff to share. Have a great weekend!
