That’s just me talking to my day. Zoo Trip Departure Day tends to overwhelm me, so I laid it all out for God this morning. Pretty much, “I can’t do this, God. I need you. You know how I am. See? I need you. Please order my day. Help me make wise choices. And not burn the cookies I’m making for Gail. I love you. My day is yours. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
The girls and I met my parents at the Opening Night of the Zoo Lights last night. (Gabe was out of town for 2 days. I didn’t mention it on here–stalkers, you know. But my He-Man is back, so bring it on.) It was so, so, so pretty! And very cold. We got there a little after 5:00, after some stand-still traffic on 270. It started snowing right away, and it was beautiful. Big, white flakes against millions of lights. All the lighted trees with a soft dusting of snow. Sigh. They have a new light show set to music over the lake (pond?). Very, very, very cool. But did I mention it was really cold? And my girls were hungry. We lasted almost 2 hours before heading to Wendy’s for warm things like chili. (and frosties for everyone but me–yuck) Thanks for a fun night, Mom and Dad!
Okay, off I go to pack things and bake things and wash things! Have a wonderful weekend, friends! Tennessee, here we come!
