Shannon over at Rocks in My Dryer (a super cool blog, if you’ve never been) is giving away Expecting today as part of a HUGE New Year’s prize package. All you have to do is write a haiku about your New Year’s Resolutions (or lack thereof).
If you zoned out during 10th grade English, a haiku is a 3-line poem. 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the 2nd, 5 in the third.
Here’s the haiku I entered in her contest:
I hereby resolve
To hone my mad haiku skillz
And win Rocks’ sweet stash!
She promptly (and lovingly) reminded me that I am ineligible to win. So I wrote another one:
Rocks says I can’t win
‘Cause my book’s on the prize list.
Double poo on that.
You get the point. Go enter the contest, you brilliant poets. I’ll cross my fingers for you!
p.s. After a quick jaunt to the library with Nina, I’ll post Tampa Zoo pics. Shall we have a Haiku Caption Contest?
