buy one, get one

Another book blog. Forgive me. I know that nearly all of you (married ones anyway) have a copy of Is That All He Thinks About? already. And almost all of you bought it from me or won it for filling out a survey (or just for being your lovely self or babysitting my girls).

Here’s the problem. Since all of my friends and family got the book directly from me, none of them are buying it in the bookstores. And if the books don’t leave the shelves, bookstores don’t buy more. Thankfully, it’s still doing pretty well (over 5,000 copies in 2 months, I believe) but I’m afraid it would’ve been doing even better if I would have just had you guys buy it at your local bookstore. Live and learn…

So, anyway, I’m going to try something. I know most of you don’t have extra money to throw around, but if you don’t have a copy of the book yet, or know someone who would like it, I’ll make you a deal. If you buy one of the books in a bookstore, send me a message and I’ll send you a free copy of Blushing, Is That All?, or 1 of 10 other random books (that I didn’t write, of course) I’m giving away (your choice).

Also, if you want postcards, be sure to let me know. And if you have a women’s/moms’/MOPS group at your church you’d like me to speak at, don’t be shy. I can’t travel too far—maybe 60 miles (more on weekends). I’m speaking 3 times in April and 1 in May, but I’d love to meet some of you and chat with your friends about sex.

In other news, Livi has 2 miniature bottles of eyedrops ($65!!!) and her eye is already looking great. She couldn’t pee at the doctor’s office, so Gabe took her specimen in before work. Janelle, my mom-in-law, is picking the girls up this afternoon. They haven’t done this in quite awhile, and it always makes me emotional to watch my babies drive down the road without me. But I’m oh-so-excited to have all this free time with Gabe. “What are you going to DO all the time while we’re gone?” Livi just asked me. Yeah, never you mind, little one.

Have a fabulous weekend!

I went to our Christian bookstore and they were out of “Blushing” (they do carry it) and they don’t even carry “Is That All” so I ordered both of them through the bookstore. Will that help?

Have a fabulous weekend with no kids! I am beside myself with relaxation…..It’ll be nice spending lots of time with Tug, too!…now that he’s fine..yeah!…Tug and I took a couple different “tests”, one of which was the personality test….we were also complete opposites and described us exactly…all of the girls were soo excited to see each other when they got here! Tanner loved playing with Nina…and Nina thought it was pretty neat being in a new place…so sweet!

I cried when the boys left Wednesday night.  So weird.  I was looking forward to our “girl time” like you wouldn’t believe and then I stood their crying in my driveway.  I just blamed it all on the pregnancy though! 😉

“I’d love to meet some of you and chat with your friends about sex.”   Your blog often makes me chuckle, but that line got an out loud guffaw.  😀  What an ice-breaker!  Hi, I’m Marla….can I talk to your friends about sex?  Hee Hee!  I know, I know….in this context it’s not that strange, but for some reason it tickled me.   I’m sorry I live out of the 60 mile range b/c I’d love for you to meet me and talk to my friends about sex.  🙂  I’ll pick up your book at a bookstore sometime, and I don’t need free copies to do it.  😉  My only difficulty is the closest one is over an hour away….that coupled with 4 children makes browsing bookstores a rare occurence!

^It’s a deal, Jamie! I guess it would be good to let them have a choice between 2 boys, instead of a completely arranged marriage. Good idea.

I am so glad you think enough of me to want my unborn son for Nina. 🙂 Landon has proven himself (aside from his sassy mouth and OCD tendencies which we are working on subduing before the engagement process begins 🙂 )

Take care friend! Have a most wonderful weekend!

^And thanks to you for covering all my marriage needs i.e., providing husbands for my two younger daughters. Thankfully, Livi is never getting married and is living with me for always.

^^HA Ha…that would be great!^^ I hope you two have the best time…I know you will. It is such a dichotomy how much we want and need a break from our children at times, and yet, when they drive away (or we drive away) it tugs just so on our heartstrings. Whoever said that having children is like watching your heart run around outside of your body…could not have been more accurate.

I just passed along a few postcards for Blushing and sent the book with my sister to college to get her soon to be engaged friends interested. As soon as one gets a ring…they will get a book from me. As for the sex book…as soon as someone gets married…that will accompany their present. Thanks for covering all my engagement and marraige present needs!
