unschooling: sabbath inspiration

Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for GOD’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. (Proverbs 3:5-6, msg)

Good words for unschooling. Good words for life. Good words for when your mini-van gets stolen in the middle of the night.

True story. I’m still kind of in shock.

The good news? The copsĀ said there’s a chance the thieves just stole it so they could rob somebody else and haul off their stuff. That maybe they’ll just abandon it when they’re done. Also, we had nothing valuable inside.

The bad news? Our insurance ran out last month. We didn’t renew, because we had to buy six months’ worth at a time, and we’ll only be here until January 3. We were in the process of finding another company we could go month-to-month with. Nice.

The good news? We weren’t taking the van with us to Cambodia anyway. And we have a 2-door Honda Civic we can all fit in (albeit uncomfortably). And Gabe and I work from home.

The bad news? We were going to sell our van to a friend who really needs it.

The good news? We’re trusting that God’s got this. We don’t know why it happened or how he’s going to redeem it, but we’re excited to see how it all pans out.

We welcome your prayers.

I literally said something out loud, like “Noooo!” to my computer screen as I read about the thievery. Praying for sure.
