weekend update

EDIT: (12:12pm) I know what I forgot! I meant to give a little shout-out to Kimberly who got up early on Saturday morning (after her hot b-day date with Kevin) to come watch my girlies. Thank you, friend! You can’t beat free babysitting from someone my girls love and to top it all off, she took them to some garage sales and came back with a Scrabble game for me! Are you kidding?!? And she wouldn’t let Livi buy roller blades without checking with Mom first. (we went back and got them and found some for Ava at Once Upon a Child after church Sunday) I owe you big-time, friend!

I’ve been working through some things in my head and my heart. One of them involves more time with family, less time on the computer. So I’ll try to make this quick. (go ahead and roll your eyes)

Thanks again for praying for Saturday. It was a lot of fun. There were over 20 people at the session. (I think there were three at 8:45, and then they all rolled in shortly after that.) Three married people, the rest single.

…well, hey, it’s three hours later. God was testing me to see if I was serious about putting Mommying before computer time. I put together a 100-piece puzzle with Nina, then we all went out to watch Livi and Nina and our neighbor boy roller-blade for 45 minutes, then we had lunch. And here I am, back at the computer.

So, the talk went really well. I ran out of time (of course) to solve the mystery of the opposite sex, but they were really attentive and seemed to be enjoying themselves and learning. I’m praying God uses some of what I said to make a difference in some lives.

Saturday night was great too. A neat panel discussion on “The Lie of the American Dream.” Lots of interaction. A good-sized group was there, and they had lots to contribute. I know God was glorified. Woohoo!

I’ve got a great story about a gal who was reading one of my books in bed… (totally clean story, don’t worry)

I’m sure there was more I was going to say. I think I’ve lost it for now. Can’t believe 2008 is half over already. Wowzers.

Have a titanic Tuesday!!

I still can’t roller blade. Or roller skate, for that matter. How sad.

I wish I was there for the “Lie of the American Dream” panel. Sounds like something I would have totally gotten into.

    Love you!

Good for you and your time with your girls!  I’m convicted by how my girls seem so much LESS fussy when I am giving them my full attention.  (Uh, maybe because I’m meeting their needs instead of putting them off?)  And speaking of, Ana just climbed into my lap and is trying to give me a kiss with some very sticky lips.  Muah!

one of my summer goals was less computer time.  funny how the Lord worked it out that my husband would have time “off” during the start of summer to help ween me off of if.  we only have one computer and since he was on it all the time, i wasn’t.  i just loved God!
