So the problem with our a/c wasn’t the $3 filter after all. It was the little pipe that brings the refrigerant back into the house (or something)–it’s kinked and needs replaced. $75 to tell me that. $293 to come fix it tomorrow afternoon. The most frustrating part of all? “It looks like someone just stepped on it.” Our hose hook-up is right by our a/c, so one of us was probably filling up the pool and stepped on it. That’s quite an expensive (steep) step.
Anyway, coming home to a HOT house wasn’t fun, but our Girls’ Weekend was! Check out pics at Bethy and Stephi‘s sites. We swam, played games, ate, looked for parks that didn’t exist, talked. It was really great. And I’m so excited about our beach vacation at the end of August when the boys and my parents can join us.
Ever since I’ve been home, I’ve been fighting the blues. Tired, HOT, overwhelmed, discouraged about shelling out $ for broken things. But I’ve been trying to count my blessings, and there are a lot of them. And I had some wonderful talks with my sisters–lots to think about.
We want to do this every year–maybe twice. If only West Virginia weren’t the halfway point between Columbus and Columbia. Again, if any of you hail from WV, no offense but your state is just…well… I bought a souvenir from our trip–a fridge magnet at Bob Evans. It’s the shape of WV and says, “Almost Heaven. West Virginia.” Livi read it and said, “Almost heaven?!? This place isn’t heaven!” I told her it said almost heaven, not heaven. “But it’s not even close!” she said.
My mom has 2 sisters, I have 2 sisters, and my daughters have 2 sisters. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Or maybe that’s just the sweat running down my bod. Who knows?
Happy Birthday Jess! Happy Monday everybody else!
