odds and endsies

Okay, so maybe I’m the only odd thing around here. It’s late, and I’m punchy.

First of all, THANK YOU for your splendid ideas for our car trip. I got pipe cleaners and post-it notes (to stick all over the windows) thanks to Gail’s suggestion. Already had window markers but have never used them in the car–thanks, Holly. Totally doing the masking tape/velcro/move the little car game–thanks, Tanya! Need to find some little trinkets to wrap and open as we cross state lines–thanks, Jess. Got 8 books on tape at the library–several of you suggested that–brilliant. Wrote down all your other game ideas. Y’all are good! (I’m practicing for Texas. Someone told me today that “you guys” wasn’t going to fly down there. Whatev.)

May I direct your attention to the cute little ad for Tara Lou’s hand-painted signs over on the sidebar? Tara’s got some cute stuff, and she’s working on a bunch more. We’re going to do a give-away when I get back from Texas. Did I mention I’d like to do a whole week of reader-sponsored give-aways? Y’all are so talented. Speaking of talented, Gabe designed Tara Lou’s pretty little button, so if you’re aching to have that last ad spot but don’t have a button, never fear. Gabey to the rescue. The spot can be yours for $10/month and $10 to design the button. If you already have one, well then, woohoo!

My face pain is gone. Have I mentioned that? God took it away. Praise His Name! I canceled my appointment with the massage therapist, and we’re getting a hotel in Memphis instead. Our plans fell through (the people we were going to stay with are having their guest room remodeled–into a nursery!), so they don’t have room for our small herd. We decided to get a hotel room, let the girls swim (they LOVE swimming and rarely get to) and have a “We Survived Texas” party.

I spent my $10 promotional Victoria’s Secret gift card today. On big ol’ swirly lollipops for the girlies. The kind that you could lick all the way to Texas and back and it still wouldn’t be gone.

Are there really only FOUR days until we leave for our trip??

Thank you for your prayers for Gabe. He had a rough day, but it got better.

I know I’m forgetting stuff left and right, but hey. That’s what I do.

Question for you–what are you doing this weekend to celebrate Easter?

I’m planning on going to the Good Friday concert in Atlanta tonight with Louie Giglio, Chris Tomlin, Christy Nockels and others – Lord willing. There’s a threat of some very severe weather coming through and it’s at an outside venue. This was to be a worshipful kickoff to the weekend. We’ll also be spending Easter Sunday with family and a delicious Honeybaked Ham!!

Well, I was thinking of having an Easter egg hunt for my 16-month old, but Hubby says he won’t understand…but we may try it anyway, more for me than for him, probably. 🙂 And we have Easter breakfast at church, and I didn’t sign up to bring anything, so Happy Easter to me, I guess. 🙂 And then we’re having Easter dinner with some friends. 🙂

  3. Stephanie

Daniel’s parents and Steph and Doug are coming down for church on Sunday and then to our house for lunch. I’m making Easter dinner all by myself (ham included)! Yikes! Hoping and praying that I don’t ruin it (not even Stephanie-ruin it)….

We’ll be staying in our hometown, attending church, and unfortunatly spending our last Sunday with our music minister (he’s moving on as the Lord calls. Happy for him, just sad for us :)).

We’ll be praying for you and the fam on your trip. Sounds so exciting! We’re going to a Good Friday service at our church on Friday night. They are having communion – I don’t think I’ve ever been to a Good Friday service w/ communion but I think it will be really special. I’m making an Easter basket for DH (age 28) and putting all kinds of fun treats in it for him. Free Easter breakfast at our church on Sunday morning as an outreach to the community and of course church later that morning!

Well to celebrate easter Drew’s parents are coming and I will be singing in the church choir 🙂 I am not sure what else! I am kind of unprepared for it this year!

We’re leaving tomorrow morning to be in Duncan, Oklahoma, in Wes and Jennifer’s church.

By a week from Tuesday evening, I’d be willing to wager that you’ll be saying “all y’all” and “you bet!”.
