20 obscure items on my desk

The time is 12:24 a.m. I am not tired. At all. I took a two-hour nap this afternoon. I’m three pages in to HP #7 and ready to be done with the fool thing so I can get on with my awesome life.

Anyway. I’ve been staring at my computer screen for at least four minutes, going from e-mail to google reader to twitter to facebook, hoping beyond hope that some brilliant idea will strike. Nope.

So, I start staring at my desk. And wondering why some of this stuff is even on it. And then thinking about the things I put there on purpose but that are a little odd. And then it hits me. No, not a flash of brilliance, but a mindless post for the last day before the weekend.

10 points to anyone who has one of these items on (not in) his/her desk.

20 points to anyone who has something on his/her desk even more obscure than any item I’ve listed.

And I have no idea what I mean by points. I’ve got, “Excellent, Miss Granger! 10 points to Gryffindor!” on the brain.

I have snacks (hershey kisses, crackers and keebler cookies), recycled art, an owl head, air fresheners and junk mail on my desk. Oh, and like 300 CDs waiting to be imported into itunes. Haha.

hmmm…I have a stack of about 30 CD’s that I’ve been meaning to copy onto my iTunes library, an I Love My Grandpa cup with about a kazillion pens in it, a picture of me and my sweetie, a picture of Jesus to remind me he’s always with me, 2 Santa Clauses (my wife’s idea to add a little Christmas cheer to my office) a stack of papers that ends up being my “get to it one of these days” piles – which I haven’t got to in awhile, tickets to the Jan.16 OSU basketball game plus my work laptop, my home monitor, keyboard, printer, phone, etc.

Blog field trip to Green Gables! Who’s in?

Let’s see. I have stacks of papers, Vaseline lip therapy, my glasses (I’ve been wondering where those were!) An almost empty bag of marshmallows, a fingering chart for ukulele chords (?!), a list of things I’m supposed to put on the calendar that are now in the past (oops! missed a few!), and a picture of Spiderman’s head. No wonder I can’t get any work done here.

Blank CDs, a cross, Christmas cards from this year and last year, gloves, dog figurine and Sea World coupons.

I don’t have any of those… but I think I have the most obscure/ odd item… a bottle of Hartz Rid Worm liguid… was used for our litter of puppies and kept on my desk to remind me to give it to them… they all have new homes so I guess it is safe to toss the bottle… although it does look good sitting next to the broken Lightening McQueen flashlight lantern!!

    Hi,

I read your article on marriage on CBN website and found it pretty interesting! I have been reading up all your blogs since then.. (that’d be from yesterday! :-) ) It was so much fun and did encourage me to be a better wife and mom and to lean more on God and to spend more time with Him! Thank you!

I haven’t read any of your books yet, but planning to do that soon..

    Keep writing! God bless!

    In Christ,
    Swapna
