My mom’s friend Kim died today. She was 44. One of her family members was involved in her accident making it even tougher on everyone.

Thank you for your prayers. Please, please keep praying for her family. Her husband’s name is Mark, and they have 2 grown children. Their 2nd grandbaby was born just a couple weeks ago.

We had a wonderful Christmas with my family today. Mom and Dad were sad but also filled with joy being with all their kiddos and grandkiddos. Isabelle is even cuter than she was two days ago. Everyone loved their gifts. I got beautiful fingerless mittens from Jess, a beautiful painting from Stephi, and 2 scrummy candles from Bethy.

And thanks heaps for the compliments on my haircut, but I have to admit they’re bittersweet. Sweet because, well, they’re just so sweet. And bitter because I have NO IDEA how to make my hair look like that on my own. NONE. I am awful at styling my hair, just lousy. And it’s not hideous today, but it’s not adorable like it was yesterday. And the odds of it ever looking like that again are slim to none. But hey, there’s more to life than me looking cute, eh?

Plans are coming together for Florida. God is amazing us.

My grandma has surgery tomorrow at 10:00. Please pray for her.

Have a great night!!

I’m sorry to hear about Kim’s loss… my prayers will continue to be with them & for your Grandma.  Glad Christmas blessings are coming in abundance for your family.  I’m a wreck when it comes to styling my hair… I can never duplicate what the stylists does!

The news about Kim is so sad.  I feel for your parents and especially for the family.  I’m sure it is so hard on the person involved in the accident.  I cannot imagine.  My step mom lost her first husband in a tractor accident.  I know how hard it has been on her and the kids.

With you hair…you can style it mainly when you dry it.  Just use a round brush.  If I was there I’d show you!  I’m sure it will be cute no matter what! 🙂

Oh Marla – I’m so sad to hear of Kim’s passing and my heart breaks for her family. Just prayed for Kim’s family, your parents & your Grandma’s surgery too. MErry Christmas.

I echo Gail…my heart just breaks for that family. Landon was asking questions last night about heaven and dying and such…and I was trying to explain to him how sometimes accidents happen and people die, not just old people. But the reality is that even for adults…that is a difficult concept to get our minds, let alone our hearts around. Definitely praying…

On a much happier note…so excited for Florida for you. That will be so absolutely wonderful!!!

We are still praying, friend. Lifting up your Mom as God directs her in how and when to minister in the upcoming days and weeks.

Can’t wait to hear about your continued Florida plans. Love to you all.

Oh, Marla. I’m praying for Kim’s family and for your mom, too. My heart breaks for them.

I am glad your family was still able to have a joy-filled celebration. Pictures of these gifts?

I actually go to church with Kim’s cousin Amber. I had been reading about the situation over email from my church’s prayer chain. It’s a really sad situation and the only relief is that Kim was a christian.

I’m so sorry to hear that Kim passed away at such a young age in such a tragic accident. Praying for her family as well as your parents. Very hard to go through at Christmas, but as our family has learned in the last 5 mos., losing a loved one so unexpectedly is one of the hardest things to go through, and hard to recover from, without huge amounts of help from the Lord.
