sweet hour of prayer

I’m coming off of two busy, tiring days and tomorrow should prove to be more of the same. The difference is that I’m committing to spend at least an hour (hopefully more) in prayer.

Because I am weary. And my to-do list is long. And my attitude has been un-Christlike more times than I can count in the past two days.

Here are a few people/things I’ll be praying for (feel free to e-mail me or leave a comment if you have a request).

–an exhausted friend who has a newborn who likes to eat every 10 seconds and a very adorable, very active 2-year-old.

–the family of a six-week-old baby named Noah who died suddenly in his mama’s arms this week.

–a bunch of lovely women from Ebenezer Mennonite Church who shared some requests with me.

–our reading buddy who needs so much help reading but is one of the funniest, sweetest, most adorable little girls I know.

–my daughters’ teachers.

three beautiful expectant mamas in Haiti.

–that our travel immunizations will go smoothly tomorrow (Wed) and that they’ll miraculously be on sale (a girl can dream).

–and several more.

And I’ll be praising him for:

–his amazing provision in the past couple weeks.

–all the people who have rallied around us since Gabe’s heart attack.

–my husband’s health, discipline with his new diet, and increased strength and energy every day.

–CAMBODIA!

–friends serving God faithfully in some very, very hard places.

–and much, much more.

Let me know how I can pray for you today.

would love prayers. am in incredible pain and having to use a walker….kindof ridiculous when you are only 30! What an awful feeling to not be able to take care of your own children because you physically cannot move. thank you!

Oh goodness, I should just write a blog post about my broken heart, but I don’t even have enough words right now. Can you please pray for me and J? Our daughter’s 13th birthday was yesterday, and we haven’t had any news in weeks about her. We honestly have no idea if she will ever come home. We had a birthday party for her yesterday, just mom and dad and cupcakes and tears. My heart just hurts.

I have two young adult daughters who are not walking with God. One of them in particular is running from some very old baggage (which is, of course, going with her in her “backpack”). God’s Word has been planted in them since they were little girls. Please pray that TODAY it would bear fruit in them! Pray that they will love God more than anything else.

going to the doctor with my daddy on Friday. there are so many layers to this one as its a workman’s comp issue, its his last appointment, and his job is in question. mostly pray for me to know when to speak up for him and when to keep my big mouth shut.

and, as always, my darling love.

I would love prayer for our family. We are about to receive a job offer for a position that would require our family to move. Would you pray for wisdom for us to know if we should accept the offer?

I prayed that our time together on Friday will be edifying and God-glorifying and that we’ll avoid the temptation to gossip and be cynical and whine about the people who aren’t smart enough to see things our way. 😉 Love you!
