I know I read some quote once from some guy who was asked how long he prays each day, and he said that on normal days he prays for an hour or something and on days he’s really busy he prays for three.
The actual quote is a little more succinct.
But I feel like I need to be praying more. Not talking about praying more. Or thinking about praying more. But praying. More.
And tomorrow (Thursday) will be the perfect day for it because 1.) I burned the side of my left hand on the stove tonight, and it hurts like a banshee. And I’m left-handed. and 2.) I have 5 girlies for the next couple days instead of my normal 3.
Those reasons make sense in my head if not on paper.
So, if you have something you’d like prayer for, please let me know. If it’s private, send me an e-mail. Otherwise, feel free to comment for others to see (and hopefully pray for as well).
I have a couple three things you could pray for if you’d like: discipline, direction, and debt-free-ness.
Thank you, friends! See you tomorrow with some more Free Trade stuff you can buy!

Please pray Gal. 6:9 for me, Marla. Thanks and praying for you as always!
Hugs,
Kathleen
I know that one by heart. Prayed it for you just now, friend!
Wouldn’t it be nice if God could give us a playbook, so we would know what, where, and when to take action? I will be praying for.
That would be FABULOUS. And would totally take away the need to trust.
I burnt my right hand last night cooking dinner! How ironic. Without thinking, I grabbed a glass dish to move it across the stovetop right after pulling it out of the oven. OUCH. Burnt the tips of my fingers. And the worst burn is on my right ring finger, the same one I cut really bad on Sunday on some sharp glass and just will NOT heal. Boo.
You can pray for just plain clarity for me. Clarity in where God wants us, physically and otherwise. Obviously I’m not aiming for clarity in my prayer request, just in my life.
Are we twins or something? Reminds me of the time that Bethany and I both got clobbered in the nose on the same day. She was in Ohio, and I was in Japan.
I miss you, and I love you, and I’m praying for that elusive clarity.
Thank you, Marla! I’ll be praying for you.
My prayer is regarding going to She Speaks next weekend. Originally I was hoping to meet with a publisher about my novel but I found out that you need to have a completed manuscript before you can pitch. It’s disappointing but I was starting to feel God’s nudge that this was my timing, not His, before I learned the requirements. Pray that I’ll form good connections, network well, and that I’ll use my time free from work wisely so that the next time I have an opportunity, my novel will be complete.
Aw, that stinks, huh? That’s why I write non-fiction. You only need 3 chapters to pitch.
And the other reason I don’t write fiction is because it’s crazy hard!! Praying for you that She Speaks will be an amazing blessing to you!
Wow, seeing your list Marla sure feels like the summation of my list of things to pray for! So, yes, and amen to that sister!
I will say a couple things though since you don’t get to see my heart poured out every day on a blog. We have 2 major things we are praying about right now.
1. Our application to become foster parents is in the system and we are waiting to hear from a social worker. We’ll be going through training in August and hope that that will clarify for us what God has for us in loving broken hearts of kiddos, and loving their broken parents too.
2. We have been asked by our youth/college pastor at our church to take on a more definite leadership role. This would mean more teaching for my husband, and more administrative stuff for me, and way more counseling and discipleship for both of us to take on. We are in many ways involved with ministering to students from age 10 – college years, but this would be more intensive, and a step in the direction of full-time ministry. We think it is right, but it’s really big and scarey. We are praying for God to lead us on the righteous path for His name sake.
Wowza, girl. That’s a lot of influence you’ll be having in some precious kiddos’ lives. So awesome. Praying!!
Dearest Lord Jesus, I come boldly before Your throne on behalf of my sister, Marla. I praise You for her life. Her love for You and her commitment to You is such an encouragement to so many. Thank You for bringing her into my life through her blog. Father, I pray that as she delights herself in You, that You will give her the desires of her heart. Lead her and guide her, Lord. Pour out Your wisdom over her. Give her eyes to see and ears to hear You, Lord. Thank You, Jesus, for Marla! In Jesus Name. Amen.
I love you, Marla!
xoxo
I’ve been praying lots for you today, friend. Excited about your future and asking God to calm your heart. Love you!
Perhaps one of these are the quote you were trying to recall:
If I fail to spend two hours in prayer each morning, the devil gets the victory through the day. I have so much business I cannot get on without spending three hours daily in prayer. Martin Luther
Every Christian needs a half-hour of prayer each day, except when he is busy, then he needs an hour.
Francis de Sales
Thanks, “Ann.”
Love your name!!
My husband (and unbeliever) is meeting with my pastor next week to discuss “God stuff”. He respects my pastor and feels like he connects with him. “If anyone can help me believe its Pastor Bryan”
Pray for him, to be open to what God has to say thru Pastor Bryan.
Pray for Bryan, that he may step aside and let God speak thru him.
Pray for me, that I not put my hopes on my husband’s salvation. That no matter the outcome of this meeting God is at work in our lives.
Amen. and praying for you to!:)
This is exciting, Brooke! Prayed for J today. And you too!

Please pray my daughter Christina age nine with Down syndrome will learn to speak. She is having great difficulty using her words to communicate, and is in new speech therapy, so I am asking all my friends to pray that Jesus will touch her mouth saying “be opened”.
Dear Jesus, wrap your loving arms around this family. Give Christina the words she needs to praise you. Be with her and her family as she continues with this therapy.
Prayed for Christina today. Thanks for sharing your sweet girl with us.
