my new normal

I think I’m a lot nicer person when I spend less time on the internet.

Bummer.

You won’t even believe what I did Tuesday night. The girls and I watched the first 10 episodes of the Cosby Show. TEN episodes. Three hours and thirty minutes straight. It was a hoot and a half. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to watch that show on DVD. I love it. Vanessa and Rudy are 100% Ava and Nina.

Anyway.

The resting is going swimmingly. Lots of Bible reading, lots of praying (for all you Radical Peeps in particular), some preparing for my talks, a new Scrabble magnet project (for whatever reason, I become one with the tiles and magnets–and now stickers!–and it’s super restful, therapeutic even).

Speaking of, THANK YOU for your orders. I’m loving making your names and sending out notes. I still have lots if you’d like to order some. And I found a little stash I didn’t know I had, so I now have 2 C’s, 1 H, 1 J and 4 M”s. First come first served.

I haven’t counted up the latest orders, but so far we’ve raised over $30 for Kenya and $30 for needy families at a local elementary school. THANK YOU.

And I don’t think I ever told you what I did with the money from the books I sold. $20 went to this precious little kiddo in Uganda and $20 went to Maria, our Compassion child in Mexico, for a Christmas gift. Again, thank you. I love partnering with you in giving.

Can I just say that I really like the Apostle Paul? He inspires me and makes me laugh. If you haven’t read the book of Acts lately (or ever), may I recommend it? It’s highly entertaining and one of my favorite books of the Bible.

And how about some verses from Psalms to get you going on this Thursday?

There is none like you among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like yours. All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, Lord and shall glorify your name. For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God. Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name. I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever. (Psalm 86:8-12, ESV)

Let me know if I can pray for you today!

Radical and Crazy love has me all ripped up. Praying for clarity over the coming weeks. I battle between oh my gosh what should I do and feeling guilty over buying a cup of coffee at Starbucks. 🙁 and I hated this week, when I was invited over someones house, who loves the Lord and it was so big and fancy and expensive, all I could think of is all the help that money could have been to Compassion children, or Gabi in Uganda or…

I am a mess! Hoping for something better in the weeks to come.
