in sickness and in… other things

I’ll admit, I awoke in the middle of the night after writing this post and had a freak-out second thought or two. What have I DONE?!? I asked. I turned on my computer the next morning and opened my blog with one eye closed, expecting at least one or two people to tsk-tsk me.

But y’all were sweet as pie. Bless you.

And some of you know this from Facebook or Twitter, but I headed my little rump right on back to urgent care at noon that day. The fiery itching was more than I could hack.

The good news? That whole post was rendered pretty much obsolete. My H-words are not the real problem.

The bad news? The cream I’ve been slathering on myself all this ever-loving time? WAS CAUSING ME TO BREAK OUT IN HIVES.

Three more prescriptions and a tube of OTC something-or-other, and this is the best I’ve felt in months. Not completely healed yet, but oh my word. Thank you, Jesus. The 2-hour wait in urgent care on New Year’s Eve was WORTH IT.

I might even cancel my “real” doctor’s appointment tomorrow morning, because who wants to spend her 13th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY (Happy Anniversary, Sweetie! Didn’t know what you were getting into when you repeated those vows 13 years ago, did ya?) in a backless gown in the doctor’s office (for the 3rd time in 5 days)?

New topic now, shall we?

Your Secret Name Read-Along starts TOMORROW!! I’m anticipating a rough start since it’s highly likely you didn’t get 2 whole chapters read over the holidays. I would LOVE for you to post anyway! Even if you haven’t started reading. You’ll get caught up soon enough.

All you’ve got to do to be eligible to win a really sweet book is to write a post on your blog about Your Secret Name and link to it from here (I’ll tell you how tomorrow). If you don’t have a blog, there will be a couple questions you can answer in the comments section. I’m super excited to get started!

Last thing. The girls and I are pumped and ready to get our Cambodia Trip Fundraising up and going this year. The Fund has been completely replenished after our mini-van repair saga, and we’re at $1380.00 (on our way to $12,000ish). WOOT!! The girls have been working on some things that I’ll be offering for sale on the blog soon. Cute, affordable ($1-$2), and perfect for MAIL MONTH (hint, hint).

Speaking of Mail Month, a couple sweet friends have helped replenish (word of the day?) my S-C-R-A-B-B-L-E tile stash. I now have all 26 letters, and I would L-O-V-E to make some words, names, or phrases into magnets and send them to a friend (for you!) along with a sweet note.

The cost: 25 cents per magnet + $2 shipping (+50 cents if you use paypal). Just e-mail me here, and let me know what you’d like and who to send it to, and we’ll get you all taken care of. All proceeds go to the Taviano-Family-to-Cambodia-Fund.

Happy Monday, friends!

First of all, I am so glad I saw you, even for a moment yesterday and I am sorry that I probably didn’t say hi…I was way out of it! But I did see you wave 🙂

Second, Really excited for tomorrow…I am L-O-V-I-N-G this book.

Third, could I just pay you make me a scrabble letter word and deliver it myself?

Other than that, I just want you to know that I like you – a lot!

So glad you’re feeling better! I can’t believe you had an allergic reaction to the cream that was supposed to help you.

My post is ready to go for tomorrow. I can’t wait to see what everyone thought about this new Read Along.
