i like the way you move

I love the way God moves. And I have stories to share. But after having a new friend over for dinner and a 2-hour local missions team meeting (love these people!) and a late bedtime for the girls and Day 1 of the I’d-Rather-Be-Dead 30-Day Shred…

Whew. I’m whooped.

The good news? Our house is finally starting to take on a new, uncluttered, we-have-a-purpose-in-life look. Thank you, Tsh and Organized Simplicity!

The other good news? My super-full week turned out to be less full. Two soccer games canceled, garage sale and speaking engagement canceled. I can breathe. And it feels good.

Have a happy weekend! But first, a question for you.

This is my kitchen. And a big chunk of my family. My kitchen is small and not very modern, but I think it might be my favorite room in the house. And we have big fun here. I just got done de-cluttering it even more, and it makes me happy when I walk into it and see it all clean and free.

What’s your favorite room in your home?

    Hi girl!

So, better late than never, I finally finished reading “From Blushing Bride to Wedded Wife” last night and I loved it! It’s so funny and light and yet wise and deep at the same time. Thanks so much for sending it and now I need to get “Is that all he thinks about” Anyway, loved the book!

First of all, I love your kitchen! 🙂 Who cares if it’s modern!

My favorite room is the living room, because it’s where the living gets done! 🙂

    God is awesome isn’t He?

my favorite room is the hearth room. we eat dinner, enjoy fires, watch tv. very much an all purpose room. plus its yellow and red – very bright and cheerful

This kitchen reminds me of the one you had on Merrymaid Dr. Especially the sliding doors. It reminds me of when I broke my finger on your tractor tire and I was jumping up and down trying to get Chris’ attention while y’all were eating dinner. Good times, good times….LOL

      1. Misi

One’s finger gets caught in a tire groove and one is pushed while playing tag. One’s finger hangs horitontally to the right. LOL!

Oh my word OUCH. So it wasn’t anyone in our family, right? Since we were eating dinner? 😉 I do remember you breaking your finger but didn’t remember the gory details.

I like our living room/dining room best (same room – one long space.) It is the only room in the apartment with painted walls (two gorgeous shades of blue) and it is the only room that is kept tidy on a semi-regular basis. Although, when the twins come that room will become the living room/dining room/double office… so I might not fine it as tidy and relaxing then. Maybe I’ll get my back porch garden set up by then (ha!) and that will be my new favorite “room.”

(Though more likely my new favorite room will be the nursery where I can watch my precious babies sleep and coo.)

My favorite room is the corner of my bedroom that hold my “prayer chair”. It is my little nook where I begin my day at 4:30am doing my journal and prayers.
My kitchen would be a close 2nd!

The ‘gathering’ room is the kitchen:) No matter where, no matter when, that is WHERE we always end up!
    Have a blessed weekend.
    Love to all,

Love your kitchen! I am eyeing those aprons hung on the wall. I keep hoping some more of those turn up! I wear the black and white one all the time and get many compliments when I wear it to work school concessions. Your sister is a great seamstress!

My favorite room is my laundry room! If I need a quiet moment I can go in there and for some reason no one bothers me…plus I really enjoy doing laundry.

Oooh! I will pass the word along to my talented sister! 🙂 I love that no one bothers you in the laundry room–ha! My girls leave me alone while I’m folding laundry in my bedroom too. 🙂

My kitchen is my favorite room as well, particularly since we moved a small table in there recently. It was originally meant to be a “breakfast table,” but it’s become our dinner table, our conversation table, and our reading table, too. Our poor dining and living rooms are now collecting dust since we spend so much time in the kitchen!

P.S. I love your yellow kitchen!

Our “dining room” is our office, so we put our big square table in the kitchen. It’s a tight squeeze when it’s full of people, but I love it. I’m not a big fan of dining rooms anyway.

I love when God cancels things for me so I can get a break! So happy for you and your kitchen!

My favorite room is our living room/dining room. We have a smallish house and this is our largest room. It has space and light from lots of windows. We spend so much time here as a family. It’s also the kids’ play room and our “parlor” when we have guests, so it gets a lot of use.

probably our dining room and kitchen b/c we always have dinner together – and its painted a crazy bright green color that I love….

*also, I got the clothes, and I love them – especially the aprons – they remind me of my great-grandmother who always had some on hand for us to play with… I cant wait to use them! Thank you! (sorry this is so impersonal as well)

    1. Marla Taviano

You’re so welcome, Addie! And no worries about the “impersonal” thank-you. I am AGES behind on thanking people for stuff, and I know I’ve forgotten half of them. Boo to me.

I’d love to see your green. Our living room is a very bold, bright shade of green too. 🙂

Love your kitchen! My fave room is our family room – comfy furniture, some of the kids fave toys, our fish aquarium, lots of pics of loved ones, no TV and it’s on the side of the house that the sun shines in!

I’ve been doing the 30 day shred too since Feb 28 although I’ve missed many days lately with getting out of routine with spring break. Glad your week wasn’t as crazy as you thought – I love when that happens!

My favorite room of our house is the office. It has a desk for me and a desk for my husband to reload his own ammunition. It also has a futon that we use for a bed when we have company.

The kitchen is my favorite room too (especially when it’s clean!) It’s where I spend most of my time, on my laptop!!! I also really like my daughters room in the winter. We keep our house super cold, but she has a space heater in her room, so it’s cozy in there.

Love my kitchen-breakfast room-family room which is all in one. We spend probably 85% of our waking hours in this room on a normal day. It’s the heart of our house. I’ve learned with a number of organizing blogs how to keep it clutter free most of the time, except when the grandchildren are here! 😀

I love your kitchen! And I love that it’s yellow! It looks so comfortable and cozy, and I just know people sit there for hours hanging out. I will do that someday, I promise!

I like my kitchen, but my favorite room is my living room. It isn’t fancy and I wish it didn’t have a tv at all, but that’s where we all gather so I love it. Right now the floor is completely covered in toys and laundry, but since it’s where we spend most of our time the clutter doesn’t bother me as much.
