eddy tuesday

If only it were Saturday, then my post could be Swirly (even if I do completely overuse that word). I wanted twisty “T” words, but a thorough thesaurus search left me longing for something…swirlier. There’s always Twirly Tuesday, but can you believe “twirly” isn’t even a word? (It should be.)

And then I found “eddy” which obviously doesn’t start with “T,” but it goes with Tuesday in its own little Maundy Thursday kind of way.

Eddy: 1. a current at variance with the main current in a stream of liquid or gas, esp. one having a rotary or whirling motion. 2. a small whirlpool. 3. any similar current, as of air, dust, or fog. 4. a current or trend, as of opinion or events, running counter to the main current.

Now, this word would work nicely if I was planning on starting (or continuing) some sort of discussion that went against the cultural flow. But not today. Today my thoughts are merely swirly, as in all over the place. Not eddy as in going against the grain (drain).

Anywho. (Anyhoo?)

Are you picking up on the swirly?

Happy September, by the way! Can you believe it’s here already?

I completely forgot to mention yesterday that my dear friend Kristen drove 45 minutes from her home in MI to meet me at my hotel Friday evening. We spent the most glorious three hours together. It FLEW by. Kristen and I met a couple (three?) years ago online, and she showed up at my door one day looking for a place to sleep. Ha–just kidding. I invited her to stay with us on her way from MI to VA.

Kristen’s wrapped up in a beautiful God-story right now that she’ll be at liberty to share in a couple weeks. You aren’t going to want to miss this one. Chances are, you’ve already heard hints of it in Blogland. I was thrilled to play a tiny bit role in the whole thing and am jaw-dropped AWED at what God has done. Oh. My. Word. What an awesome God we serve! Un. Real.

Something very, very cool happened to me last night. I got an e-mail that made me jump up and down, praising Jesus. It’s just a preliminary thing, a first step, but God is so good. I’m hangin’ in, hangin’ on, and trusting Him with all I’ve got. Yes, it’s Zoo Book related. I can share when I know something tangible (and in the book world, this could be eons from now).

Let me leave you with a burning question: If I handed you 7 one-dollar bills right now and you had 30 minutes to get rid of them, what would you do with them?

I’d go to one of two local coffee shops for a good mixed coffee special and some sort of muffin or pastry… it would probably take close to the whole $7.

Add another .99 & get Jason Gray’s new release “Everything Sad is Coming Untrue.” It’s only $7.99 this week! http://jasongraymusic.com/home#/home

I don’t know, everything is closed and I really hate to get all dressed for that. I’d probably give it to someone in the parking lot just to avoid going out!

I think it would be enough to buy a certain book for a far-away friend. She’s in ministry and has no extra for such luxuries. Yet she has shared how much she’d like to read it. With only $7, I’d have to go couch-diving for the money to mail it to her though!

Loved seeign you too Marla. I ahd a beautiful time with you…very sweet indeed. And I am EAGERLY anticipating that date in Sept when all will be revealed! ;-) I can’t wait to see how God uses this story.
