attitude update

Well. Thank you HEAPS for your encouragement and prayers. I loved reading your words, and I could feel your prayers. Seriously.

In the interest of complete honesty, I have not leaped out of my pit in a single bound, flapping my wings of joy. However, I am CLIMBING out, holding my Father’s hand. The walls of this particular pit are pretty muddy, so I’ve slipped backward a few times, but I’m definitely moving.

I am so thankful for a forgiving husband and kids.

While I’m at it, I should probably list some other things I’m thankful for, because there are many.

I’m thankful that we only need about $400 more support for our Cambodia trip. Praise the Lord!

I’m thankful that the girls and I spent about 3 hours this afternoon completely (and I mean COMPLETELY) cleaning out their bedrooms. They’ve never looked this good. I could cry.

I’m thankful for Nina’s new flotation device that helps her be brave enough to hang out in the 6-ft end of the pool instead of the 2-ft. So much more fun for Mama. I’m thankful for my friend Amanda and her daughters Jillian and Jada who hang out with us at the pool and swimming lessons every day.

I’m so thankful for my friends who are en route to Cambodia RIGHT THIS MINUTE. This team is paving the way for our team that leaves in 13 days. (13 days!) Love each one of them!

I’m thankful for my husband’s new job with HEALTH INSURANCE. We haven’t had it for over 2 years, and now we even have dental and vision. So, Ava’s 2 pulled teeth and the spacer she needs? Cost us $73 instead of $600. And my new glasses? Free frames, $10 for the lenses. I haven’t had glasses since 8th grade. I’ve worn my contacts pretty much every minute my eyes are open since I was 14. Don’t try this at home.

I’m thankful for the Ollie’s that opened 5 minutes from our house yesterday. Do you know Ollie? I LOVE HIM.

I’m thankful for Bit-O-Honey and Lifesaver Gummy Sweet Strings and Sour Rings.

I’m thankful for some beautiful items I’m selling next week on my blog.

I’m thankful for a place in Michigan that says they can fix Gabe’s camera for $180 and thankful for the free autographed Dale Earnhardt Junior jacket that Gabe won on the radio and sold for $150 and the $30 check that a certain K. sent Gabe for his camera fund. What a “coincidence” that those 2 things added up to how much the camera repairs cost.

My list is longer, but my eyes are tired.

I am also thankful for YOU. You’re awesome.

What are you thankful for today?

Thankful for you, too. And for the time to catch up a bit on your blog. Lord, cover them with Your grace as they head to Cambodia to do Your work. Love them palpably, Jesus. In Your name. Amen.

God is so good! Awesome to see how He works in small and big ways in our lives. Today I am very thankful for extra hands helping out at my house. I’d never pull off this 30th bday party I’m throwing for my hubby tomorrow without them!

I am in need of a thankful post today too. I found a lump on Parker’s neck so I am of course freaking out. Probably more than I should…but I can’t be too careful.

I am thankful for you and my Vista family.
    I am thankful for insurance.
I am thankful for supportive family
I am thankful for God’s love and His truths!

I have more later…heck, I may copy you and post my own thankfulness blog!

    Love you friend!

Yeah for insurance! Praise Him! Curtis backed into another car yesterday and apparently we won’t have to pay anything. Yeah for insurance!

Marla, I’m THANKFUL for you! It’s so great to see a young mom blogging about the downs and the ups of life! I’m sure when I was your age, as a baby Christian that I was at the time, I would have hidden all that behind a cloud of “joy” and never told how I really felt. God’s been showing me day by day that in spite of lots of trials the last few years, I have MUCH to be thankful for and to really thank Him! So, first, I thank Him for you, as you show me to be thankful for the little things…like exactly the right amount that He provided for Gabe’s camera. Amazing! And things like Ollie’s—-we’ve had one for a few years now just 10 min. away for me. I do love that place. Make sure you join Ollie’s Army and get coupons! And your blog! I am thankful for seeing it every morning when I get up!

I was wondering about the World’s Apart project. I haven’t seen any updates for almost 2 months. Am I doing something wrong? Are you planning more updates or do we need to buy the book to find out how it ends?

Great news! I love hearing stories about how God brings exactly the right amount of money that someone needs. It’s so cool.

Glad for Gabe he gets his “baby” back. I’ve felt bad for him and his photo blog the past couple of weeks.

I’m thankful for a kick-in-the-pants reality check that made me realize how much more thankful I should be for my job. And since that realization, my last two days at work have been AWESOME! (even though nothing really changed but me)
