IRL

So, I had my first meet-my-xanga-buddies-in-real-life event tonight. It’s a bit like meeting/dating a guy on-line and then meeting him in person for the first time months later. Except not. Much less pressure.

Apparently, in real life, I look nothing like the pic on my site. Maybe because I am no longer blond or 5 months pregnant. 🙂 I will try to post something soon that more closely resembles the me I am now.

It was a fun time. I was 40 minutes late, even though I live 10 minutes away and left my house 30 minutes before I had to be there. Gotta love traffic jams. I got some products that I can’t wait to try–and the promise of many more once I attend my one-time training session. Beauticontrol products = yummy.

lendy_p, mybluheaven, ch1pch0p, and faithchick–it was so good to meet you! And the other girls who were there, I forget your screen names, but good to meet you too!

I am 0 for 2 in the peaceful afternoon category this week. Sigh. Oh well.

I need to blog about Ava soon. That girl cracks me up every five minutes. Livi likes school, but I think she’s a little worn out. Something was wrong with Nina today. Lots of crying.

Do you ever feel like that for every 1 thing you check off your to-do list, 8 things are added to the end of it?

I sent you a Xanga message, but don’t know if you received it.  Thanks for solving my mystery!  I appreciate you and Krista’s background work.  Also, I know I don’t “know” you and I promise not to bug you, but I just wanted to let you know I responded via a message–didn’t know if you had received it.  I also don’t know if Krista mentioned it, but I was in the Cincinnati mall on the Friday over Labor day, and there was someone who looked like you with kids that would match your kids’ ages.  I about introduced myself, but then I figured that I was crazy.  You don’t even know me…and I don’t even know you…so I kept walking.  LOL.  Just know that someone in the Cincinnati mall looks just like you from a stranger’s perspective, or your picture at least.  Have a happy day!

I kind of saw you in a picture posted of Livi on her first day of school. It was actually your profile…and there were the pics of you and the girls that your photographer took. I remember that you were TINY skinny and had cute hair and a very cute face…the kind that never needs makeup 🙂 But more pics would always be appreciated. I am kind of a picture freak 🙂

I am so glad you all had fun last night! Here is to hoping that you get a relaxing afternoon ALL to YOURSELF!

I thought you looked the same when I first met you. Of course your hair was different, but, you looked like I had expected! We need  to get together one of these days! Heard you talked to my hubby the other day! My head is much better, I think it was the stress that got me!

    Have a great day!

I’m so glad you could make it…even if you were a few minutes late! I’m SO SORRY about the “left” instead of “right” — I feel awful about that — typing too fast, I guess. Anyway, now that you know the way to make my place, feel free to stop over anytime!

I hope I didn’t offend you by saying that! Once it was out, I realized that could be taken the wrong way, especially by a person you hardly know… but the dark hair did throw me for a loop 🙂 I didn’t mean it in a bad way, either… just so you know!
It was fun to meet everybody IRL, and it was fun to be papmered and de-stressed. Until I got home and realized all the things my dear husband DIDN’T do when I got home. Should make me happy that our family wouldn’t function as well without me, huh?

IRL. . . Haha! Within five minutes of meeting DH IRL, I had him fixing my closet door that was ever coming off the track. No pressure! 🙂 He tells me that when he first saw me he thought for a split second that I was 15 because I looked much younger! That’s the weekend I found my first three gray hairs. Hmm. 😛
Other than strange men, I can’t say I’ve ever met people I first met online, unless you count your sister.

Checklist: Come on, Marla. You know you thrive on having those eight extra things to do–as long as they don’t involve keeping a spic ‘n’ span house.
I sometimes think if I didn’t have those constant things to do (esp. keeping up with the girls), I would become complacent and not accomplish all those things I’m really wanting to do anyway.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (that was to the last question.) I think I said those exact same words to my mom today.

and, i also agree with your assessment of meeting people in real life. a little weird, but good and fun. plus, we aren’t xanga friends, we’re C-ville friends. 😉 I’m glad you made it, though!! It was a little bit hectic and chaotic (hmm..interesting considering it was a relaxation party) and hard to chat, but still fun.

and…mom just dropped me off. Long story…it’ll be part of my blog tomorrow.
