soccer mom

Tonight I just about turned into one of those moms I can’t stand. The kind who yells at their five-year-old’s soccer game. 🙂 The “ref” was a clueless teenager (girl) who didn’t even try to stop “Johnny” on the turquoise team from yanking kids down to the ground by the necks of their jerseys. Our coach had to “talk” to their coach about it. (Their coach was another story altogether.) She didn’t even keep time, so they played the world’s longest quarter and had to make it halftime instead. Livi’s sit-out quarter happened to be the first one, so she actually sat out the whole first half after Aunt Bethany drove all the way here to see her play. Grrrr… Just keep smiling. Just keep smiling. 🙂 It was actually quite an entertaining game.

I get my galley proofs for Is That All He Thinks About? tomorrow morning via Fed-Ex. This means that I have a week or so to look over the book (it has just been edited by my editor) in its semi-final form and make any last minute changes/corrections. I also have a McGraw-Hill deadline Friday. And we have no food in our house. And I’m having discipline issues with child #1 and child #2. And so on and so forth. Blah, blah, blah.

I had fun on Saturday with Kimberly, Lisa, Sarah and Joan. And got to see Jess and her mom and the little bambina. Unlike me, the tiny one looks exactly the same as she does on xanga. 🙂 Learned that Sarah and I share the same anniversary (6 years apart). And that Kimberly and I know some of the same people. 🙂 And that Lisa really does have exquisite taste in clothes. 🙂 And that Joan is a sweetie to let us buy things at her super-special discount. 🙂

Thanks for all the encouragement about our chat with Satan’s witnesses. We appreciate your prayers. I would just love to see Sally and Shonda show up at our door again someday…

Sunday evenings are almost always free. I don’t really have anything planned for the 13-16. After this money class is over, Tuesday nights are generally open (but that’s not till November). My apt. is mostly kid-friendly, but it would probably be easier at your house, so they have their toys and such…and beds if they need to sleep!

How is it that we always end up becoming “that mom” that we swore we would never be.  At the ripe ol age of 22 I swore I would NEVER drive a minivan.  Guess what…..99 Ford Windstar Baby! 🙂

Ahhhh…I remember playing soccer. We had a couple of refs that sound like the one at your game. Man, I would love refing…if I could remember the rules still!

i hope that the new book turns out well. See you thursday!

Congratulations on the new book. Since I have just been introduced to you (through this blog stuff), I didn’t realize you had others. Could you share some information about them with me?

Thanks for sending your last book to Jojo…she was really excited to get it! I forgot to tell her it was coming so she was surprised when it came…having Morgan’s party the afternoon before the bonfire, sent the invite today so it should be there by the end of the week, Tug doesn’t get back until the day of Morgan’s birthday, so it worked out best to have it that following weekend, one less trip to Lima for ya’ll! Yeah, Morgan was sooooooooooooo excited about getting her dress back….she wore it literally for two days in a row, played all day in it, slept in it, woke up sunday morning in it and wanted to wear it to church…….it’s being washed now, lol!

I enjoy reading your blog, even if I’m off in Minneapolis until tomorrow night! 🙂 I have been feverishly working on my manuscript, though, and just transferred my last edits from my hard copy to my PC. I’m down to aprox. 262 pages…what do you think about that for a length? OH TO BE DONE! 🙂
