sniff sniff

Gabe started his new job in Columbus today. I must admit I cried a little bit after he walked out the door. He has worked from home since October 2003–I’ve been pretty spoiled. He’s excited to be back in the real world though, and I’m really happy for him. When he left at 6:15 this morning, he said, “It’ll be nice to bring home a paycheck.” That has really bothered him lately–not having a steady income to support his growing family. We have never gone without though in these last 2-3 years. He’s a pretty popular guy in the world of web design. It’s just tough taking care of everything by yourself–all the administration details and phone calls and web hosting and invoices and everything. He’s ready for someone to give him a task, complete it, drive home and relax. Oh wait, he’s still going to do web design on the side. We’ll see how it all works out. I hope he doesn’t kill himself working too hard!

We found a house in Columbus and put an offer on it. It was accepted. 🙂 We LOVE it. We had hoped to sell our house first, but we really want to be settled in Columbus when Livi starts school in August. And we don’t want Gabe to have to drive so far for too long. We’ll close on our new house at the end of July, and since we found a house at the low end of our price range, we can afford both house payments for a few months if we need to do that. Lord willing, our house will sell ASAP.

We had a wonderful weekend with family. We got to see all our siblings and nieces and nephews and my parents and Gabe’s grandpa and my grandma and some cousins and aunts and uncles. It was a lot of fun.

Thank you to all of those who have served/are serving our country in the armed forces. We visited my grandpa’s grave with my parents and grandma on Monday. He was in the U.S. Merchant Marines way back when. Thank you, Grandpa! We also watched the A&E documentary on the Lima Company out of Columbus that lost so many men last year in Iraq. (airs again on June 3rd at 11 am) Nate Ryerson, my sister’s brother-in-law, is part of the Lima Co. I’m so glad God spared his life–thanks, God and thanks, Nate!

That’s all for now! Can’t believe it’s almost June already!

I’ve been wondering how you all inter-connect! Your relationships, I mean. I’ve been trying to figure it all out…little hints here, little hints there.

No, faithchick, I most definitely DO NOT care to share. 🙂 Just kidding! My siblings and I used to make “movies” with my grandpa’s video camera. They’re pretty darn funny but completely humiliating. And a couple of them even have my high school boyfriend in them. Lovely. Scuz is my sister’s sister-in-law. Evidently, my dear little sis felt at liberty to share these movies with her whole slew of in-laws. 🙂

I’m so happy for you – glad that you found a great house and can afford it no less! Will pray about the sale of your old home. Glad you had a great weekend too…

We’ve shared our double mortgage nightmare in class a couple times, so you’ve probably heard it. Moral being (something I know you know): His timing is always perfect. . . and if not in our timeframe, He ALWAYS provides!
(Looking at Thursday for a trip to the ‘font. small chance of Wednesday, depending on parents. will call :-O)

I’m glad you got to watch the documentary.  I just wrote about it on my xanga too!  I also wanted to let you know that I got to see some interesting footage of you and your family.  Do “Upside Down” and “Black and White” ring any bells?  I was very impressed with the acting skills of the family as a whole!
