snail’s pace

I’m not having a bad day. (How could I with weather this glorious?) But I just can’t seem to get moving. I took a nap yesterday afternoon and went to bed around midnight, so I should have been rarin’ to go this a.m. Nina woke up at 6:15, I got her situated on the couch with a sippy cup and a bowl of dry cereal. Grabbed a pillow and blanket from upstairs and fell asleep beside her.

Woke up at 7:00, made cappuccino, tried to write in my journal and read my Bible, couldn’t stay awake. Got Livi and Ava breakfast. Back on the couch. Snoozed off and on until 9:00. What in the world? I still haven’t showered. And everything I’m doing is in slow motion. Oh well.

The seminar went really well on Saturday. Thank you for praying. I was able to talk to a couple gals personally afterwards and really encourage them, so that was especially cool. This has opened up a lot of other ministry opportunities at church (besides the fabulous Cubbies, of course), so I’m excited.

Just checked the mailbox and got a CD of the radio interview I did a couple weeks ago. The host included a letter that said, What a great program we had together discussing the sexual relationship from God’s viewpoint. I listened to the program myself afterward and thought that it came across very powerfully and I trust that it was a great encouragement to many.” That was cool. I’ll listen to it sometime, and if I like it, I’ll share the link to their on-line archives. Something fun to listen to in the car on vacation…

Well, the free books are going to have to wait awhile. They’re free to you, but it costs me something to mail them all out, and I just shelled out my book-mailing money to Icing by Claire’s Saturday night, so Livi and Ava could get their ears pierced. I told them they could do it sometime after Ava turned five, so we decided on the spur of the moment. I had no idea how much it would cost. They wouldn’t do stainless steel for little people, so the white gold ones were a bit steep. At first I said no. Then changed my mind. It was fun. They were so brave. And they look so cute. It was worth the $500.

Tomorrow is our DATE NIGHT with the real babysitter. Silly I know, but please pray that it goes well. And that Nina gets over her diarrhea that she’s had for three days now. She doesn’t have any other problems, and she’s eating/drinking fine. ??? Her little bottom is raw. Poor Nina. I realized why I say that so often. There are only 2 things I can share about Nina since she can’t talk–adorable things she does, or misfortunate things that happen to her. Since I know what a bore it is to hear about people’s perfect children, I just share the “poor Nina” tales. Did I already blog about this?

Little Sophie just came to the door to get Livi and Ava for a “playdate” (her words) at her house. She wanted to know where we were last Thursday. ??? Can’t remember. Turns out we missed a scheduled playdate. “Mondays are playdates at my house, and Thursdays are playdates at your house.” Hmmm…sounds like a plan. Didn’t realize that was how it worked. Next time I’ll try to be more informed.

I’m struggling a little with this whole book thing. What to include? What to leave out? How to be funny when I’m not feeling it? It’s almost August. It’s due October 1. I’m beginning to freak. Just tell me it will be okay and that I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.

Have a great week! This weather is to die for!

She never did tell me her name. I just kept calling her KKAKWRIGHT. I thought that was her name. he he. I really did that for people like my mom. She won’t know that Krista is KKAKWRIGHT. So I just did that.

You know, I have felt kind of the same way all day.  I feel like I haven’t gotten anything accomplished.  I did a lot of fun things today but nothing got done.  ugh.

Have fun on your date night.  The babysitter can handle a little diarrhea. That is why they get paid.  Have fun with Gabe the Babe!  love you!

I just stopped at the library and picked up the Sacred Parenting book you recommended. Look forward to reading it after I finish the two I’m working on now.

Praying for wisdom as you approach this book! You can do it and it will be as great as your previous ones and even better!!

You are an awesome writer and I know that God will fill these pages and give you the words to say by Oct – Phil 4:6-7.

Yay for date night! I love you 😉

$500!!!!! Oh, my stars and garters!!!! I would have pierced their ears for free!!!!! (I had quite a career going in high school…every band trip!!   )

    Merciful heavens. I’m overwhelmed.

The book will be fine and it will come together. Don’t try to be funny when you’re not feeling it. Let it go, let it flow, and it’ll be fine. Trust me.

Oozing poo is a bad thing. Poor Nina AND poor you….
