Last summer Livi and Ava went to camp for the first time and LOVED it. They raised most of the $300 (x2) themselves, because 1.) we think that’s a really good thing for kids to do–earn their way to stuff. And 2.) Gabe had to quit his job last March due to his anxiety/panic, and we just couldn’t swing the expense of camp.
The girls (thanks to many of you) did lots and lots of odd jobs to pay for camp. This year, they’ve babysat every Thursday since January (each girl earning $8/week) and have a handful of jobs lined up for June.
Camp starts July 7, and while I’m open to them finding more jobs to earn the rest of the $ they need, we’re going to do a big Facebook garage sale this week first. Because 1.) de-cluttering/simplifying has never hurt anyone. And 2.) all the running them around to this job and the next can leave me a little out-of-breath and out-of-sorts.
So. The Sale will start tonight on Facebook and go all day tomorrow and for as long as we have stuff. I’m going to throw some Cambodia stuff in there as well, but those proceeds will go to Cambodia, not camp.
Here are some of the things you can expect to see: vintage aprons, books, more books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, picture frames, a Kindle, a patchwork Noonday journal, some bracelets, elephant purses, Scrabble magnets, wall art, homeschooling materials, golf clubs, fabric markers, more books, various cords/computer thingies, craft supplies, shoulder bags, prayer bracelets, coffee mugs, more books…
And whatever else I can find.
If we’re not friends on Facebook, then we should be. Feel free to send me a request.
If you’re not on Facebook and you’re feeling sad to be left out, leave a comment about what you’re interested in, and I’ll see if we can work something out via e-mail.
Let’s get this party started! (well, in a little bit–we’ll kick things off around 7pm Sunday)
