mondays are cool

Dreaded Mondays as a teacher, love them now.

Thanks for praying for me on Saturday morning. My session went really well. There were 16 ladies. Perfect. There would have been less, but the jewelry-making and flip-flop decorating sessions filled up fast, so several women came to mine instead. 🙂 I knew 10 of the women already, so that was nice of them to come.

Nothing went according to plan. And it was perfect. I talked about McKenna, read baby Audrey’s letter from her mama. Everyone had tears in her eyes. Me too. And I’m praying we’ll all be challenged to love on our kiddos, make the most of each day, look to Jesus, not complain, and be joyful always. Thank you, Lord, for moving in our hearts!

I only sold 5 books, which is always a bummer. But got 9 orders on-line this weekend, so that was super cool. I never want to make it about numbers, but if they don’t sell, they go out of print, and blah, blah, blah. Always looking for a balance.

I got to Livi’s game during the third quarter. Brrrr!!! I was in a skirt and ballet flats (and a shirt!), no coat. Mom and Dad were there. (with blankets!) And Rock and Janelle! R & J showed up at our door 15 minutes after I left to help Gabe with the girls at the games. All that praying for Gabe for nothing! 🙂 Ha! Kidding! All that prayer must have prompted his parents to get up at 5:30 on a Saturday to drive 90 minutes to freeze their buns off at 2 soccer games. Thanks, guys!

Bethany and Stewart got to our house the same time we did. What a fun day! We played games and chatted, ate pizza, and Stew brought one of his remote-controlled cars and a plane. I don’t know if I can convey what a blessing those vehicles have been to us. I’m not kidding. Stewart is AMAZING at driving and flying these things. And they have this crazy, uncanny way of bringing people together that otherwise wouldn’t share a whole lot in common. Two-year-olds, grandparents, young adults, middlish-age adults. We have SO much fun watching him and squealing and being deathly afraid that he’s going to crash his hugungo plane into someone’s house. EEK! Thanks, Stew!

Yesterday after church (8:45 service) the five of us went to Tim Horton’s for brunch. Ava LOVES that place. She’s a donut girl like her daddy! Well, Gabe’s not a donut girl. Speaking of, Janelle told me she found a pic of Gabe when he was 2, and he looks identical to Nina. I can’t wait to see it.

Spent most of yesterday just being tired. I need to start exercising again.

Gotta shower and head to the grocery store with Ave and Neenie. Have a wonderful day!

Yes…start exercising again.  I have been going to the gym 4-5 times a week since November and can honestly say that I have felt better than I have in years.  I don’t get the mid-afternoon “blahs” as often either.

@terriwright – Xanga farted. LOVE that! I’m glad it happens to others. 🙂

I was wondering how your Saturday went. I kept praying that Gabe would be able to find something or someone to keep Nina occupied with during the games. Too cool!

Hey…did you get my email the other day???

I’m sitting here at work, on a Monday, as a teacher.  And I’m trying to think.  Nope, I like Mondays.  I was all prepared to agree with you, but I actually love them.  However, I will say, they are higher stress.  🙂

I did pray for you Saturday….tried to leave a comment, but Xanga farted. Repeatedly. I must confess, I love Mondays much more now that I’m retired…and enjoy Sundays more…no dread and frantic going-over of plans…..I think you should rethink the exercise thing. I found a real live research study that says being lazy strengthens your immune system. I’m going with that!!!

Your dad and I had such a great time Saturday!:)  It’s so much fun to get together with family!  And I totally agree with you about Stew’s cars and planes!:)  God has certainly blessed us, hasn’t He?  Love you!:)
