EDIT: My photographer friend Camille is giving away 2 copies of Diapers over on her blog. I asked her if it would be cheating if I sent some of you her way. She said not at all. So, if you’re not one of the 90 who got a free one , go leave a comment on her site and be entered in the drawing. TWO BOOKS–one for you, one for a friend!
Well, my name is anyway (Yoder-Taviano). But I guess we Mennonite Mafia don’t really get a day. Happy St. Patty’s a bit late!
The interview went really well. Short and sweet. (And TW from KY, FYI, it’s TV in OH, not radio in Peru.) Gabe was on this morning live, and mine was taped and will air tomorrow morning. Grace for Today on TV 44, Lima, at 9:00 a.m.
We had fun with Gabe’s family. Pizza, Blokus, cousins, treasure hunts, chatting, tooth-pulling (Morgan). Since our girlies skipped school, Moogie got to too. And Janelle’s picking up all 3 of ours on Thursday after school and taking them home with her until Saturday afternoon when we’ll go to Lima for Taviano Easter. Gabe and I get a 48-hour belated 10th anniversary celebration. Woohoo! I usually get teary for a smidge when they leave, but oh, I’m so thankful for a break–and a chance to relax and/or catch up on life. Thanks, Rock and Janelle!
I realized this weekend that I already gave away Gabe’s copy of Deception. Oops. So, I’ll be drawing a name tomorrow for my own copy, which will leave me with none. This is okay. I can always get the book from the library when I’m ready to read it again. I don’t keep a lot of fiction books anymore anyway. I only reread the extra-special ones (Anne of Green Gables series, for one). Randy Alcorn’s are good though–and he addresses some very cool real-life issues in them. My favorite is Safely Home–a story about persecuted believers in China. It’s amazing. I try to read it at least once a year to remind me of how blessed I am and to prompt me to pray for the persecuted church. And to step up my walk with Christ and truly surrender to Him.
Let me answer a question while I’m thinking about it. Terri wants to know Do you drink diet or leaded soda? I can’t stomach diet pop (blech!), so definitely “leaded.” I like Coke and Mountain Dew. I drink mostly water though. And ice cold skim milk. Mmmmm…
More answers tomorrow! And thankfully, they’ll take me awhile to get through. (time enough to work on one of them in particular in order to answer in the affirmative. ahem.)
Have a wonderful day!
