So, I spent a better part of the weekend browsing through my first couple years of blog posts and comments for a little (big) project I’m working on (Zoo Book-related). Goodness, I used to be a lot funnier.
Case in point. This blog entry from four years ago today–April 26, 2006.
I’m one of THOSE mothers…
I used to roll my eyes at those parents who would watch their little kids up on stage at church (during a Christmas program or what have you) and just be BEAMING for no apparent reason. Their child was doing nothing special. Just standing there. Maybe mouthing the words. More than likely staring off into space or twiddling his thumbs. They’d have their camera and video camera, snapping photos left and right, WAVING to their child from their pew. Yes, WAVING. Grinning to beat the band, proud as a peacock, oblivious to the world around them. All that mattered was their child–the STAR. Make me puke.
Okay, fast forward to Livi’s first year of Cubbies (AWANA club at church). April 2004. Cubbies award program. My little baby, MY LITTLE BABY, up on the stage! Oh, I could hardly believe it. She was so BIG. And so fabulous. And such a STAR. I know we took pictures, maybe video, I can’t remember.
I DO remember her PICKING HER NOSE on stage.
Fast forward some more to April 26th, 2006. Livi has her final Cubbies awards program before she graduates to Sparkies, and AVA makes her stage debut. They were sooo excited, especially Ava.
I don’t know what happened to me. I’m usually fairly reserved at times like these. But tonight I was shameless. Gabe had the video camera, I had the digital camera. I WAVED at my babies from my pew. I was BEAMING. The lighting was terrible, and the pictures I was taking weren’t turning out. “I’m going to the front,” I said, climbing over Gabe and making my way around the auditorium in my loud flipflops, kneeling by the front pew, thanking the Lord that I wore a long tank under my shirt, because the only pair of jeans I can fit in right now SHOW MY CRACK whenever I bend over. Met my friend Cami on my way up. “Let’s GO!” I told her. “We’ll be those crazy parents who just don’t know where to draw the line!”
My camera still wasn’t working. “Take pictures of my babies for me!” I hissed at Cami, who is a professional photographer.
Ava was grinning from ear to ear, twiddling with her skirt. Twiddling, twiddling, lifting, lifting, SHOWING THE WORLD HER BRIGHT BLUE CINDERELLA PANTIES! I still beamed.
They sang two songs, got a ribbon, and clamored off the stage.
My daughters, THE STARS.
I do have fabulous news. After much time in prayer and some I-really-truly-mean-it surrender, I’m back in a writing groove. If you couldn’t tell, it’s been a looooong time. I’ll explain more later, but just to give you a heads-up, I’m formulating a little survey (for any and all interested parties) concerning your thoughts and feelings about the internet and the friendships/connections you’ve made online. I’ll let you know when it’s ready.

I started blogging in Jan 2006 to share my enthusiasm for cloth diapering. I am one of THOSE mothers.
Today, I blog about natural family living from a Christian perspective. Other stuff, too, but that’s what it’s SUPPOSED to be about.
I started blogging in 2003 as a way to share my college experiences with my friends back home. Been at it ever since!
I’ve been blogging since last fall. Initially I blogged to help myself write out a bible study in more depth. Mostly now I blog devotional thoughts that relate to my every day life as a wife and mother to 6 .
I started blogging on 3/10/10 to chronicle my Project 101 in 1001 progress. However, I have since re-discovered how much I love to share my thoughts through writing and how much fun it is to get feedback and conversations going on-line.

I started blogging in October of 2006 to keep our families updated. We were in Japan at the time and had just had our first baby (and were unknowingly pregnant with our second — surprise!), so that’s mainly what I wrote about. Still is!
I started blogging back when you still had to explain the word blog in 2002 when I was pregnant with my first daughter. I still blog about random stuff on family, friends, faith, tv…it’s a hodge-podge!
I started blogging in January 2010 as a way to help my friends and me be accountable in bible verse memorization. I wanted to continue memorizing after doing so last year with LPM blog, but they weren’t doing it online in 2010. It is much harder to be the “leader” in this than I originally thought. I also occasionally write about what’s going on in my world.
My son hasn’t even been on a stage yet, and I already KNOW I’m one of those mothers.
And to answer your question, I broke my ankle, October 2008, and I needed a sit-on-my-butt-all-day hobby. Whatdya know? I started blogging.

Blog about things in life and post devotions I have written.
I started blogging in college because everyone was doing it – haha.
I started my main blog though to “update people on Parker/life.”
Well, I have had a couple of blogs since 2008. They were all about motherhood or cooking or saving money, but I just couldn’t get into it. Now I do not have one. I feel like, as a writer, I should have one, but I just don’t feel comfortable sharing such personal family things on the Internet. Maybe I am just a chicken. Oh well. Maybe someday I’ll find a really great niche and I’ll start it up again.
I started blogging so I could comment on other people’s blog. You know that is a good questions, what DO I blog about? HA!

I started blogging in July 05. I’d moved away from my friends of nearly a decade and I wanted a way to keep current with them.
None of them read anymore.
But I still love blogging (and them!)
I write about everything, and nothing, and many things in between.

I started blogging on a somewhat regular basis in 2009ish; although my blog has very few readers. Anyway I started blogging about infertility and our journey to parenthood as an emotional outlet.
I started blogging in the summer of 2005 I think…soon after I got back from a missions trip with YWAM. I started blogging as a way of keeping in touch with other people from YWAM (it was really popular with them at that time), though I haven’t blogged for a few years now. I wrote about anything random that might be interesting.
I started blogging about 2 years ago (I’m at 450 blog entries!). I started because I needed an outlet for the all words in my head – I just needed to talk and if someone would come by & read & “listen” – so much the better!
