I’ve gotten 2 very sweet Happy Birthday messages so far today. Thank you, Janelle and Rachael. I actually looked up and checked my calendar to make sure that my birthday is still tomorrow and not today. We’ve been going away so much that I thought maybe I’d lost track of time. Nope–it’s still tomorrow. I like early birthday greetings. 🙂
My sister, YoYo, informed me that this is my Golden Birthday–31 on the 31st. Calls for extra celebration, I’d say. How ’bout I go to my first parent/teacher conference in the morning (as a parent, not a teacher) and take my girls trick-or-treating in the evening? Perfect. 🙂 I’m such a martyr.
Like I said, Gabe will probably post vacation pics, and I probably will never get around to it. He did. Go here to see some. I really do want to post more soon though.
I spent the morning cleaning after a day of (mostly) rest. It didn’t take long at all. God really does reward sabbath-keeping, I’m coming to find out.
We had a fun weekend with family. My cousin is the assistant director at Camp Swoneky (Salvation Army) and 30 or so of us Yoders or Used-to-be-Yoders or Married-a-Yoders spent quality time talking and walking and playing games and eating chili and pizza. It was a neat time. We are finally back in our own home for awhile, and it feels good.
I have some books (that I didn’t write) I want to get rid of. I’m keeping only those books I know I will want to reference or read again. Anyway, I’m going to post their titles up here sometime this week, and if anybody wants any of them, I’ll send them to you.
I’m thinking maybe I should take a week off from xanga every month or so. It’s amazing how quickly you can catch up on everyone’s blogs and comments, compared to how much time I spend on this computer when I’m here all day/week. Food for thought.
I just cut a band-aid off Ava’s stuffed kitten. It was on good. He has a little patch of missing hair now, and while he didn’t whimper a bit, Ava is in tears. I told her it would grow back. 🙂
Hope it’s as sunny outside your window as it is here!
