back to life, back to reality

Well, not quite yet. We won’t actually be back in frigid Ohio until sometime Sunday evening. Not looking forward to the rest of winter.

I’m sitting in a comfy chair in Kelly’s beautiful Florida home, using her laptop and warning my children to stop being so loud or else. I’ve said it about 13 times now, and I’m pretty sure they recognize an empty threat when they hear one. Okay, so I just followed through. Good for me.

We went to the Miami Metro Zoo today, thus concluding our 6 Florida zoos in a week tour. The zoo is lovely. Many, many animals. Many, many meltdowns (mostly Nina).

Animal Kingdom on Wednesday was incredible. We had our very own tour guide, a high school friend of Gabe’s who’s a Disney employee and got us in for free. My favorite part was the Kilimanjaro Safari (we did it twice, thanks to Jason’s fast passes!). I so, so, so, so want to go to Africa and see the animals in their real habitat.

The Hokies game was awesome! They WON!! We got $300 worth of tickets for $34 and $15 worth of food for $33. 🙂 Happy 11th Anniversary to us!! (tomorrow)

We’re pretty wiped out. But so, so thankful. God is so good. We’re healthy. We haven’t run out of money. We have such generous friends and family. We’ve enjoyed a beautiful week+ of amazing sunny weather. Wow. That’s really all I can say.

Gotta run! If you ordered Expecting, I’m hoping a ton of copies are waiting for me when I get home, so I can mail them to you first thing Monday morning.

Happy New Year, friends! It still hasn’t hit me that it’s 2009. Wowzers! Love and hugs!

I just gave a friend my copy of your book “Diapers…” to borrow. She is so excited! Hopefully she will buy it eventually but they are having a difficult time right now with money, marriage, life, etc. Please pray for her!

I drove past your house (actually your road) twice today…..and thought of you! I went to the Thrift Store…and LOVED it! LOVED it. No wonder you never took me there…I would’ve never left and stayed for HOURS!

That is AMAZING that you got into Disney for FREE! I was curious if that was one you wouldn’t be able to get in for free…but you did!

Isn’t it awesome to think how God has blessed you this year?! And to think…last year you were in Urgent Care like a hundred million times.
