I didn’t discover this word on my own. I happen to be the proud owner of a One-New-Word-A-Day desk calendar. The word for Monday, January 18, 2010?

perspicuous (adj): plain to the understanding especially because of clarity and precision of presentation.

Ha! Wouldn’t that be a delightful (AND TOTALLY MISLEADING!) name for my blog! Perspicuous. I sometimes see these sweet little blog names in my Google Reader–Baby Bangs, The Simple Wife, Bears and Belles, Raising Rascals, Snoodlings, Jewels In My Crown… Someday, Blessed Treehouse, Breathing His Joy, BooMama, Big Mama, On the Path, 1PhotoPerDay, My Heart’s Wellspring, Musings from Mommyland, Chatting at the Sky, SortaCrunchy, Finding Him Bigger–and wish I had a cutesy blog name. (And oh my word, if I left you out, it’s only because all the link-making IS KILLING ME and I had to stop, not because I don’t love you. Seriously, I want to bang my head against the wall now.)

Perspicuous. Simple to understand because I did such a clear and lovely job of crystallizing my thoughts into word form. Writing in a way that is not random and/or confusing and/or blabberly. Mmmm…

Feel free to start referring to my blog as Perspicuous. You know you want to. “So, I was reading over at Perspicuous the other day that…” Nice, huh?

And now a question or four for you. I’m intrigued.

1. If you have a blog and love its name, please share with the class a.) your blog name and b.) why you picked it/love it.

2. If you don’t like your blog name, what would you change it to if you could?

3. If you don’t have a blog but decided to get one someday, what would you name it?

OR

4. If you like to read blogs but have no plans to have one yourself ever never, what is the neatest blog name you’ve ever heard?

Have a positively delightful week!

p.s. Thank you SO much for your sweet, encouraging, prayerful comments on yesterday’s pour-out-my-heart post. I kept today’s post light on purpose while I sort out some stuff. But I can feel God molding and squeezing, and I’m so thankful.
