As we got in the van to go home, happy to have met new friends and sad to be leaving them, Ava said, “Is that what it will be like to play with the kids in Cambodia?” I smiled and said yes and felt a dull ache in my gut from wanting to be there so badly.
We set a goal a few weeks ago. To hit the $2000 mark in our Cambodia Fund by the end of January. We started the month at $1380, and while the younger two were all about the big goal, Livi was a little reluctant to aim so high. “That’s a lot of money. How are we going to do that?” I told her we’d work really hard and pray a lot and just see what happened.
We’re at $1723 with 5 days to go, and $2000 is so close we can taste it.
THANK YOU to those of you who purchased beautiful little personalized thermal totes for $8 (among other things) from my friend Shalla and 31 Gifts! You still have 3 days left to buy something–and we get 25% of your purchase! Shalla told me today that she threw in an order she already had, and we’re up to $200 total (so $50 for the Cambodia fund!). I’ll bet we can get it even higher!

And there are always S-C-R-A-B-B-L-E magnets!! I’ve been having soooo much fun making those! They’re just 25 cents a magnet + $2 shipping. E-mail me if you’d like some.
And now… drumroll… the girls and I made some really sweet Cambodia photo cards tonight. They’re 4×6 photos on 5 x 7 cardstock w/cool green envelopes (the cards don’t open–you just write on the back). And you can buy a pack of 5 for $5. That includes shipping (U.S. addresses only) and 2 bonus cards/envelopes.
I didn’t feel right selling cards with the kiddos’ pics on them, so the photos are mostly beautiful Cambodian scenery and random beautiful Cambodian people. HOWEVER, your 2 free bonus cards have some cutie-patootie kiddos from our orphanage on them (with their names). Cool?
So $5 = 7 cards/7 envelopes + free shipping.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for helping us get to Cambodia!! We couldn’t do this for a second without you!!
