(I know I said I’d be posting Part 4 of hope, heartache, healing, hope today, but my day was crazy-busy, and I’m sooo tired–grace??)
Get this. My online friend Donna sent me this FANTASTIC letter today that just blessed me in a zillion ways. She also sent a photo and a $50 bill to bless my friends in Cambodia. Holy cow. Read it for yourself:
Marla & Company–
I recently bought some lovely handmade bracelets from you. They gave me an idea. (insert drawing of a light bulb)
I painted a canvas, added some felt, one of your bracelets, and the words SHARE LOVE NOW. It turned out pretty well. I sold it (for $30) and 6 bracelets (for $3 each) at my recent Christmas Show & Sale.
So–here’s the $ for you to send to Cambodia. I know every little bit helps.
(And this is TOP SECRET–but I’m putting it on the internet and in bold ALL CAPS to boot–but Donna offered to make ANOTHER ONE and sell it to one lucky person via my blog in January. Isn’t that COOL?!?!?)
We have really, really, REALLY been blessed by this whole prayer bracelet venture. Last week, we sent 16 Haiti bracelets to a teacher-friend in Indianapolis to give to her first-grade class (they sponsor a child in Haiti). Just tonight, she asked for 31 more. Two other teachers saw them and want some! This past week, we’ve also made 18 for Tanzania, 20 for Guatemala, 6 for Turkey, and a bunch more.
We have loved being able to give $ to Cambodia even in tough times, just because the girlies learned how to make bracelets at camp, and awesome people are catching the vision. And I love the bonding time when we’re all sitting around making bracelets and chatting. (And the girls only moan and groan for a few seconds when they hear about the next big order, and then they get into it again.)
Thank you, Jesus!!
If you’d like to order some bracelets (in flag colors or just random colors), let me know. (They’re $1 each.) And if you have any BRILLIANT ideas like Donna’s for re-purposing and/or kingdom-investing our bracelets, I’d love to hear ’em! THANK YOU!!
