from my heart

Love languages. All the different ways people feel love. Words of affirmation. Acts of service. Quality time. Physical touch. Thoughtful gifts.

As we prepare to visit America for two months this summer (we leave FIVE WEEKS from tonight!!), I can’t stop thinking of how much LOVE we’ve received from so many friends, family members, and online acquaintances in the past 16 months since we moved to Cambodia.

Physical touch is out (except from the five people who came to visit us), but y’all have showered us with kind words, acts, gifts, and the time it takes to do all of those things.

We wouldn’t be standing if it weren’t for all of you. I mean it.

You will never know how much it means to us that y’all CARE about us and TELL us and SHOW us even though you have your own lives in America and we’re clear on the other side of the world.

And, as we make preparations to leave here for 2 months and be with so many of you again, we want so badly to find ways to show you how much we love and appreciate you. I would say “repay” you, but that’s not even close to possible, so we’ll rule that out before we even start.

For some of you, we’ll be able to spend quality time with you (yay!). (If you’re anywhere close to Columbus, OH, and you’re free on July 16, we’d love for you to join us here.) And hugs! We’ll give free hugs to anyone who wants one! For some of you, we hope to be able to do some acts of service. And words! We can do that in real life and/or online.

And gifts. Gifts aren’t really my top love language, but I love to give them. And I’m going a TINY bit crazy (in a GOOD way) shopping for gifts for our families, dear friends, and supporters. AND wonderful, beautiful, special things to sell to you to raise money for the center (I so want it to be mutually beneficial–I think it will be.).

Why did I write this post? I don’t really even know. Just felt the urge to let you know what you mean to us, to tell you we’re so excited to see so many of you this summer, to thank you for supporting us through prayer and finances and love.
