I got an e-mail last week from a guy, and it made me smile and shake my head. It also made me wish once again that I kept an automated response on hand to e-mails like this one, because I’VE GOTTEN SO MANY E-MAILS JUST LIKE THIS ONE.
I have read about 1/2 of the book Is That All He Thinks About? I have told the wife before about reading books to help us. I have left them laying around to hint, etc. How can I get her to READ? Any suggestions, ideas? Thanks for the advice, help.
Too bad I didn’t save my reply, but I know it went something like this:
Hi, (Bob). Thanks for your e-mail. I commend you on your courage to write and ask what you did. And I have good news and bad news. The bad news first. Leaving books lying around for your wife to read and/or hinting/nagging her to read books to improve your sex life will never, ever, never, not ever work. Never. And it will probably backfire. The good news? There’s something else you can do. Two something elses actually.
Thing #1: If you’re a believing man, you can pray. Sounds lame, but I’m telling you, it’s not. You tell God what you want from your wife, and you let him tell her. She’ll take it much better that way. Just pray and pray and don’t give up, even if you really want to.
Thing #2: I have a book for YOU to read in the meantime. It’s called The Husband’s Guide to Getting Lucky, and it’s an easy-to-read e-book that will help you move toward a more satisfying sex life with your wife.
Thanks for writing. I’ll be praying for you both.
OR, if you’re willing to tweet it or put it on Facebook, I’ll send you a copy for FREE. Just e-mail me or leave a comment.
And I’ve got a sweet deal for you on Is That All He Thinks About? too. It’s currently $9.90 on Amazon which is the lowest I’ve seen it in awhile. I have Amazon Prime which gives me free shipping. So, if you want to go to my paypal account and send me $10.10, I’ll have Amazon ship the book to you, and you’ll get it in 2 days. Woot woot!
Tomorrow I’ve got some more book news (and sweet deals) for you! Any questions?
