Know when to hold ’em, know when to fold ’em. Is that how that country song about a poker game goes?
I tried. I really did. I made it 14 glorious (not-even-close-to-consecutive) days before I fell all the way off the blogging wagon forever amen.
I’m not saying I’ll never ever blog again (I’m sure I will). There are just other platforms that fit the various things I dream of doing with my words, the internet, and YOU.
For this particular venture (reading diverse books and sharing what I’ve learned), I’ve got a new online home: Instagram.
Shorter, more frequent posts. Beautiful photos. And an easier way to interact with those who have thoughts to share. It’s less overwhelming and feels more purposeful. It also feels like where the party’s at, instead of over here on this lonely blog.
So! Pop on over to my new White Girl Learning (@whitegirllearning) account. (Even if you don’t have an Instagram account, you can still see my posts; you just won’t be able to comment.) I’ll still post all my regular life stuff as Marla Taviano. (also, be watching for account #3–I KNOW, INSANITY–coming soon)
My first post is today, 01 December, 2017, and I’m going to try my very most absolute best to post every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday all the way through 2018 (and hopefully beyond).
I’ll be posting about books written by people of color and sharing quotes and snippets of things I’ve learned. I’m really pretty stinking excited about it.
And, as you can see, I know someone very very talented who designed my logo/avatar thingy for me. Not only do I know her, I birthed her (17 years ago tomorrow, in fact–happy happy birthday, Liv!).
So, good-bye for now, little blog! See y’all on Instagram!
