book + cards {29/40}

for the loveWelcome to Day 29 of our 40 Days of Birthday Gifts!

Today’s give-away is pretty special. First of all, my online friend, Tina, has generously offered to give awayย a SIGNED HARDCOVER COPY of Jen Hatmaker’s new book, For the Love.

I am so jealous of the winner already. I have read the book (and LOVED it), but I read it on my Kindle (which is NOT THE SAME) and didn’t get to underline, asterisk, and scrawl in the margins as it is my great, great pleasure to do.

(I plan to get the book the next time I’m in America and go to town with my pen.)

cards2If you haven’t read this book, READ IT. (better yet, WIN IT) I’m not even going to say anything about it, just that it’s so, so, so good and will give you so, so, so much to think about.

AND THERE’S MORE.

My ultra-super-uber-way-beyond generous friend, Krysten, of Fancy Freedom Designs (you know, the girl who has already given away a leather cuff and TWO necklaces) is giving away thisย ADORABLE 5-PACK OF HANDMADE CARDS.

cards1I. Love. Cards. (right after books come cards)

So, again, jealous.ย (I’ll get over it.)

Let’s GET TO THE WINNING.

I’m going to make it super easy today. To be entered to win For the Love + the awesome cards, just leave a comment telling me SOMETHING YOU LOVE.

That’s it! See you here tomorrow for another give-away! THANK YOU, Tina & Krysten!

In case I’m still allowed to enter:

I love (and miss very much) my little sponsor child Elito who’s not so little anymore and turned 13 this year (without my permission!)

  2. Carissa R.

It doesn’t look like you picke a winner yet, and I was so sad when I realized I forgot to enter yesterday. In case you haven’t done your thing yet…

I love cards! And pens that write with ease, almost skating across the page. Recently, I’ve realized how little I say thank you, so I’ve been enjoying sending out hanwritten cards to those who have done so much for me.

i love the sound of little kiddos walking by my window on the way to the bus stop. i love the sight of squishy kids, barely bigger than their backpacks, climbing up the steps of the bus-looking like they might topple over at any moment-what is in a kindergartener’s backpack, I wonder.

  4. Melissa

I love my kids and food and not being sick! And family time! Perhaps the only upside to unemployment is lots of family time. And I’m grateful for that.

  5. Mindy May

I love the crazy, exhausting, messy, overwhelming, all encompassing, to-do list throwing, job of being a stay at home mom right now. I have 3 kids and some days I want to throw in the towel but most days I love that this is what I get to do.

  6. Kelly B

I love Gabe’s pictures! Can’t wait for him to add more. Although, I’m already having a hard time choosing which ones I want, so maybe more isn’t a great idea. ๐Ÿ™‚

Something I love is how God works things out even when we have no idea he is working. For example, my getting pregnant while my husband and I were still discussing our options AND it being that elusive boy that my husband has been so desperate for!

  8. Tina

I got so giddy when I saw today was the day. ๐Ÿ˜€ I simply cannot wait to see who wins!!! I totally get why you do this, it’s SO much fun!

  9. Rachelle Zook

I love you…it’s true it really is! You inspire me! Also I would love if you would somehow fanangle this thing that I could be the winner ๐Ÿ˜‰

I love you too! So much that I will not stoop to such devious treachery. (also, remember how your English spelling skills have been slipping the more Khmer you learn…? f-i-n-a-g-l-e)

I love those moments that just knock me off my feet at the very same time God takes my breath away, those times when just as it feels like I have to catch myself, I’m being caught already, and it’s amazing.

Loved this book and would love my own copy (had it from the library). Also love sending and receiving pretty cards! ๐Ÿ™‚
